Leon Opening Analysis

1) Luc Besson has used jump cuts throughout the opening

2) He may have used this type of editing to establish the various settings and it directs the audience attention as we follow the opening

3) The director may have used extreme close ups during the cafe sequence to build mystery as we don't know who these two men are and the close ups help keep their identity hidden. Furthermore it helps to entice the audience as we are intrigued to listen to what they have to say.
