Group Pitch reflection

My Contribution

Our group consisted of 3 people. Due to this, we delegated the different presentation points accordingly whereby two people did 3 and one person did 2.

I offered to do 3 of the slides and found myself doing the narrative of the opening sequence along with the mise en scene and the soundtrack. I went about this by brainstorming ideas for the potential opening narrative and then working on this idea with my group in order to come up with our opening. For mise en scene, I used the idea of the opening to build my knowledge of the potential props, the setting, and the lighting for an effective opening sequence. Finally, for the soundtrack, I used my previous knowledge of films I had already seen which fit a similar genre and aesthetic to our production in order to figure out what sort of soundtracks would work best for our film.

In the feedback to our pitch, the main point we needed to focus on was broadening the idea and expanding it into a full feature-length film. We have already begun to do this by suggesting potential sub-narrative plots that can be littered throughout the middle of the film to help build the idea towards a climactic finale.
