When looking at who might watch this film, we first had to look at similar films, ones that matched the genre and atmosphere we are trying to create. We started by looking at films like 'The Lighthouse' and 'The Shining'. We found that the typical audience for these people are those that are fans of the genre(Psychological horror), This would lead them to like ours as we have aimed to match the psychological horror genre as well, through dark and mysterious themes. Furthermore due to the psychological horror genre being quite a dark one, it isn't really gender specific, people who watch these sort of films, tend to be fans of the genre more than a specific class or gender. Due to this we also think these sort of people would watch our film. As we have aimed to make a film which focuses on tackling issues and encourage conversation rather than a film which people sit down and enjoy with there friends or family. From this its also clear to us that when looking at a potential age of our audience, we are thinking aged about 15 or older, who we think will connect with the film better and understand the more darker themes than younger children. Who may find it too disturbing or frightening. The film aims to tackle mental health in people of all ages, social classes and genders. As a result the audience of our film is more widely anyone who feels they need to be better educated on the matter of mental health or for people who want to go and experience these issues and then feel able to talk about them comfortable afterwards.
